Stetson University
Edmunds Center Renovation
DeLand, FL
Building upon the initial feasibility study we completed in 2016 and updated in 2020, S3 Design and Stetson University developed a phased approach for the renovation and expansion of the beloved Edmunds Center. Home to multiple Division I men’s and women’s athletic programs, the facility required updates that reflected the continued growth and success of Stetson Athletics. The phased strategy allowed portions of the building to remain occupied during construction while also helping the university manage budget considerations effectively.
Phase one focused on enhancing the student-athlete experience through locker room renovations that improved functionality, introduced modern finishes, and added graphics that boosted morale. Phase two elevated the experience for fans, staff, and guests with a reimagined main lobby featuring updated ticketing, concessions, restrooms, improved accessibility, and a direct connection to the adjacent Wilson Athletic Center. The second floor added modern staff offices and a multi-functional hospitality suite designed to accommodate VIP events, recruiting, and donor engagement. The result is a renewed facility that strengthens both the student-athlete and fan experience while supporting the future of Stetson athletics in a welcoming and competitive environment.
